Florentine Rungrama Muhry studierte Geschichte und Kunstgeschichte an der Universität Wien, Sorbonne-Paris IV und Universität Graz. Nach dem Studium arbeitete sie als kuratorische Assistenz an der Halle für Kunst Lüneburg (2017/18) sowie am Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg in der Abteilung Fotografie und neue Medien (2019). Danach war sie wissenschaftliche Volontärin an der Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in Düsseldorf (2020–22). Zwischen 2018 und 2022 betrieb sie den von der Stadt Hamburg geförderten Kunstraum MUHRY. Derzeit ist sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am DFG-Graduiertenkolleg 2477 „Ästhetische Praxis“ am Institut für bildende Kunst und Kunstwissenschaft an der Universität Hildesheim. Ihre Promotion mit dem Titel „Wessen Moderne? Eine historiografierende ästhetische Praxis am Beispiel von Rasheed Araeen“ hat sie im Januar 2026 eingereicht. Sie lebt in Berlin, schreibt Auftragstexte und ist als freiberufliche Kuratorin tätig.

Florentine Rungrama Muhry studied history and art history at the University of Vienna, Sorbonne-Paris IV and the University of Graz. After completing her studies, she worked as a curatorial assistant at the Halle für Kunst Lüneburg (2017/18) and at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg in the Photography and New Media Department (2019). She then served as an assistant curator at the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in Düsseldorf (2020–22). Between 2018 and 2022, she ran the art space MUHRY, which was funded by the City of Hamburg. She is currently a PhD-researcher at the DFG Research Training Group 2477 ‘Aesthetic Practice’ at the Institute of Fine Arts and Art History at the University of Hildesheim. She submitted her doctoral thesis, entitled “Whose Modernity? The Historiographical Aesthetic Practice of Rasheed Araeen”, in January 2026. She lives in Berlin, writes commissioned texts and works as a freelance curator.
